The Master Mind Scholarships are prestigious merit-based awards funded by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training in Belgium. The scholarship supports outstanding international students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at a recognized higher education institution in Flanders or Brussels.
The programme aims to attract academically excellent students from around the world and strengthen Flanders as a top international study destination.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Apply for a Master’s programme (60–120 ECTS) at a participating Flemish higher education institution.
- Have an excellent academic record (typically a GPA of around 3.5/4.0).
- Meet English language requirements (e.g., IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 94, or equivalent – depending on the institution).
- Be accepted into the Master’s programme before being nominated for the scholarship.
- Hold a previous degree obtained outside Flanders (some exceptions apply).
- Not already be enrolled in a Flemish institution (unless in a preparatory programme).
- All nationalities may apply except Russian citizens.
Benefits
Selected scholars receive:
- An annual grant of approximately €10,225 per academic year.
- A full tuition fee waiver (students only pay a small administrative enrolment fee).
- Financial support that contributes toward accommodation, insurance, and living expenses.
Deadline
There is no single global deadline.
Each participating institution sets its own internal application deadline for both the Master’s programme and the Master Mind nomination (usually between January and April 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year).
Applicants must first apply to the university before they can be nominated for the scholarship.
