The JINR Summer Student Program 2026, officially known as the START (STudent Advanced Research Training) Summer Session at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia, is a fully funded research internship for STEM students worldwide. Participants work on scientific and engineering research projects under expert supervision, gaining advanced research experience and exposure to international scientific environments. The programme invites students to spend 6–8 weeks (typically July through November) working with JINR scientists on cutting‑edge tasks.

Eligibility

  • Open to students and postgraduates from all countries.
  • Must have completed the third year of a bachelor’s degree, be a current master’s student, or be in the first year of a PhD programme.
  • Applicants must be under 30 years of age.
  • Specialization in science, engineering, technology, or IT is expected.
  • Applicants who have previously participated in the START programme generally are not eligible to reapply.
