Are you a young leader dedicated to democracy, governance, and human rights in the MENA region? The six-month, in-person Bassem Sabry Democracy Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to:

Conduct policy-relevant research and advocacy in Washington, DC

Engage with U.S.-based decision-makers and global networks

Honor the legacy of Bassem Sabry, a champion of democratic values and inclusive change 


Fellowship Highlights

Duration & Location: 6 months, November 15, 2025 – May 15, 2026, in-person in Washington, D.C. 

Funding & Support: Full coverage for travel, visa, housing, insurance, stipend, and added professional development support through Atlas Corps 

Outcomes: Leadership training, media engagement, mentorship, and access to influential global policy circles 


Eligibility

Age: 35 or younger

Citizenship: Must reside outside the U.S. and commit to returning after the fellowship

Background: Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience; strong English skills; Arabic proficiency preferred

Focus: Demonstrated dedication to democracy or MENA-relevant policy work
