Program Overview
Structure:
Phase One (3 months): Training at DOALOS, UN Headquarters in New York
Phase Two (6 months): Advanced academic research at a recognized host institution worldwide
Target Participants:
Mid-level government officials or related professionals from developing States
Ages 25–45, holding at least a university degree
Purpose:
Equip fellows with the expertise needed to support their countries in implementing the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and managing ocean policy frameworks in line with SDG 14.
Benefits & Support
Return economy airfare to New York and the second phase location
Monthly stipend plus a $100/month book allowance during Phase Two
Visa fees, medical insurance, local transport, and accommodation support provided
