The African Union Continental Capacity Building Training Program 2026 | Fully-Funded

This training program, organized by the African Union Commission (AUC) through the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS), aims to strengthen youth participation in democratic governance, elections, leadership, and civic engagement across Africa. It aligns with the Agenda 2063 continental development framework and focuses on enhancing practical skills, awareness of shared African values, and youth leadership in governance processes at national and regional levels. The training is scheduled to take place in April 2026 at the African Union Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (dates subject to change).

Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.
  • Be from an African Union Member State.
  • Have demonstrated leadership and involvement in democratic governance, elections, youth participation, peace and security, or civic engagement.
  • Affiliation with youth-led or youth-focused organizations, civil society groups, or national institutions working in relevant fields.
  • Strong commitment to attend the full training program and share or replicate learning in their communities/organizations upon completion.
  • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
