The Transilvania Academica Scholarship (TAS) is a competitive scholarship designed for international students from non-EU and non-EEA countries who wish to apply for a Master’s degree programme at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania.
Objectives of the Scholarship:
- To attract international students to study at Transilvania University.
- To create a group of “Ambassadors” of Transilvania University and increase the institution’s international visibility.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be citizens of non-EU or non-EEA countries.
- Candidates must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in order to apply for a Master’s programme.
- Applicants must complete the online application form and upload all required documents.
- All submitted documents must be in English.
- Incomplete applications will be rejected, and no additional documents can be added after the deadline.
Duration
- The scholarship is awarded for the entire duration of the Master’s degree programme for which the candidate is accepted.
- If the selected Master’s programme is taught only in Romanian, the Romanian language preparatory year is also covered.
- Students must pass each academic year in full to continue receiving the scholarship for the following year.
Scholarship Amount / Benefits
The scholarship covers:
- Full tuition fees (including registration and graduation fees).
- Free accommodation in university dormitories (including during holidays).
- Monthly allowance of 800 Lei (approximately 170 USD, including holidays).
Important:
- Travel expenses and Romanian visa costs are NOT covered and must be paid by the candidate.
The Application File
Applicants must upload the following documents in PDF format through the online application form:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting outstanding achievements.
- Motivation letter (maximum one page).
- Three letters of recommendation supporting the candidate’s achievements.
- Bachelor’s degree diploma OR a provisional graduation certificate proving completion of the Bachelor’s degree.
All documents must be submitted in English. Incomplete files will be rejected.
Candidates’ Selection
- The selection process is conducted by an evaluation board appointed by the Rector of Transilvania University of Brașov.
- The main selection criterion is the quality of the documents submitted in the application file.
Selection Process Calendar (2026 Intake)
- 23 February 2026 – 10 April 2026: Online application period.
- 13 April 2026 – 08 May 2026: Evaluation of applications.
- 11 May 2026 – 25 May 2026: Approval of selected and pending candidates list.
- 27 May 2026: Selected candidates announced via e-mail.
